Thai women love to pick mushrooms!

I need exercise and enjoy walking a few meters here and there. When I'm out with my Thai girlfriend, this isn't possible to a great extent. My experience is that many Thais, including my long-time girlfriend, don't like walking and get bored after a short while.

Did you know that there's no real word for "walking" in Thai? It's more commonly referred to as "play walking," or playful walking, although hardly anyone in Thailand does this without a good reason.

For many years now, I've invited my Thai friend to Switzerland in the autumn. We don't go for walks, but mushroom hunting. And lo and behold, we spend the entire weekend hiking through the forest, up and down mountains, from early morning until late afternoon, until I can't go on anymore 😊

Tip: Invite your Thai friend to Switzerland or Germany in the fall; she will thank you with a wonderful mushroom meal.
