I had a problem with a CIEC (marriage certificate) from a Swiss registry office, which I actually needed for the recognition of my marriage performed in Switzerland. However, the Thai municipal office did not recognize the CIEC, even though all translations and triple authentication were provided. The reason for the rejection was not entirely convincing, so I contacted the Swiss Helping Point for assistance. Mr. Laluna from the Swiss Helping Point took on the case and submitted the CIEC to an expert in Bangkok to determine the exact reason for the rejection. A short time later, I received the unfortunately unwelcome news that the marriage certificate was indeed "unusable," meaning it contained errors. So now, thanks to the uncomplicated and prompt assistance of the Swiss Helping Point, I know that I will unfortunately have to start the process all over again. Nevertheless, a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Laluna.
